Your True Story, in Digest Form, Could be Worth $5,000!



It's time for another Sunday Quickie!

Have you ever thought you'd like to just sit down and write your stories? Well, now's your chance. You don't even need to take the time to write a whole book for this version, yet you could still win as much as $5,000 for doing it! Yay!


100-Word True Story Contest

For this contest, you are asked to write a true story about yourself, in 100 words or less. The expected number of contestants for this contest is 5,000.

*Grand prize is $5,000, plus winner's story will be published in Reader's Digest.

*One runner-up will receive $500.

*Six finalists will receive $100 each.

Entries will be judged using the following criteria:

Uniqueness 50%
Writing style 25%
Universality of appeal 25%

Entries must be suitable for a general audience. You may enter as many times as you like, though each entry must be a different topic. Your entry will become the property of Reader's Digest, whether you win or not, so be sure not to use something you'd want to publish someplace else.

Open to residents of the U.S. and its territories, including Puerto Rico, 18 or older.Ends March 14, 2014.
