Name the Mermaid


Chicken of the Sea is celebrating "100 Years of Good." For this celebration they want you to name the Chicken of the Sea mermaid.

*10 runners up will receive a Chicken of the Sea branded product

This is a bit more complex than it appears, so reading the rules is a must. They want you to create an original name, in the English language, of no more than three words (20 characters), that personifies the company image (family-friendly, American brand, etc.).

Unlimited entries, though each entry must be a different name.

Open to U.S. residents 18 or older. Ages 13 through 17 may enter with consent of parent or guardian. Ends February 14, 2014.


Nielsen RewardTV


This is by The Nielsen Company, so is largely based upon what TV shows you've watched in the past 24 hours or so. Choose the shows you've watched from their list (which offers quite a good selection), then answer trivia questions about each show (some questions are also about the commercials aired during the show). You are awarded points for each correct answer.

Each day that you play and complete one trivia game, you will be awarded an entry into the $10,000 drawing. Playing two games (two different TV shows) will also get you an entry into the $1,000 "second game' drawing.

These entries are not dependent upon points earned in the trivia game. You will gain entry regardless of how many points you earn. However, points can be used towards rewards such as entry into various other sweepstakes, and more. Surveys and various other tasks also offer more ways to earn points.

The first time I played, I chose "NBC Nightly News," and "American Dad." It was fun. I especially enjoyed the applause when I chose the correct answer, as it made it feel something like being on a game show : )

Pic Your Home Team Sweepstakes


Two grand prizes are to be awarded, which each include a trip for four to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 10, 2014 to July 14, 2014, four tickets to the 2014 FIFA World CupTM Final Match, and a $30,000 check that winner can use toward taxes, as well as lodging, transportation, etc. (Total ARV of each prize is $124,000).

I recommend taking a little time to study the rules for this one, as it could be worth your while. A family photo is required to enter, so abiding by the photo guidelines will save your entry from being disqualified. Weekly entries are allowed, though each must have its own photo submission, and each must be substantially different. Bonus entries are given for sharing through certain social networks.

Other things to note in the rules are things such as the fact that travel companions must be at least 8 years old, and must have parental consent forms signed if not the child of the winner.

Two Challenges from Jeep

Jeep currently has two great contests that will exercise your mind, while you focus on earning your entries. Both require a Facebook account to play, and offer a fun (though possibly somewhat frustrating ; ) challenge.

Jeep Polar Quest


This game offers a clue, to direct you toward finding a badge. The badge is located somewhere on the web, and you must decipher the clue and do your research to gain entry. Once you find the badge, click on it and follow through to get credited with an entry. One clue is currently available, with a new clue to be revealed on January 20th. You are allowed one entry for each badge found in this phase, for a total of two entries.

Some of the prizes have already been awarded in earlier phases of this game, so at this time, you will be playing to win some Jeep winter swag. A fun endeavor, nonetheless, with some relatively good odds. A total of 540 prizes with a total ARV of $28,200 are being awarded in this phase.
