Your Chance to Win a Million Dollars is Back!

Oooohh! This is just so exciting! Yes, one of my favorite annual contests (and certainly some of yours, too!) is back! This contest offers the chance to win a million dollars or more, and to claim the fame of winning it!

For this contest, you are asked to create a new flavor for Lay's potato chips. For your entry, you are asked to name your flavor, offer its three ingredients, and state the inspiration for it. Simple enough?

Entries will be judged based upon the following criteria:

40% Original and creative
30% Potential for delicious flavor for LAY'S potato chips on the designated chip base (Original, Wavy and/or Kettle Cooked)
30% Simple, straightforward and fun flavor, consistent with the "Tastes of America" theme

Once the judging is complete, four finalists will be chosen. The four flavors they entered will then be put on the market. Next, the general public will vote for their favorites. This will determine the winning entry.

Prizes are as follows:

* 3 Finalist prizes of $50,000, each.

If you choose to enter by mail to increase your chances, I'd recommend giving the same information as the web form requests, as the rules do not specify what information the mail-in entry must contain. Also, it's probably a good idea to add the giveaway number for this specific sweeps, with a line stating something to the effect of "Giveaway 3080".

Generally speaking, most sweeps ask for this information to be mailed on a regular postal-regulation sized post card, or a plain 3x5 card or piece of paper in a business sized (#10) envelope. This sweeps does not specify, so you could have some fun with your entry on this one, if you feel artistic.

Three Ways to Win $10,000

Name the Mermaid


Chicken of the Sea is celebrating "100 Years of Good." For this celebration they want you to name the Chicken of the Sea mermaid.

*Grand prize is $10,000
*10 first prizes of Chicken of the Sea for a year
*10 runners up will receive a Chicken of the Sea branded product

This is a bit more complex than it appears, so reading the rules is a must. They want you to create an original name, in the English language, of no more than three words (20 characters), that personifies the company image (family-friendly, American brand, etc.).

Unlimited entries, though each entry must be a different name.

Open to U.S. residents 18 or older. Ages 13 through 17 may enter with consent of parent or guardian. Ends February 14, 2014.


Nielsen RewardTV


This is by The Nielsen Company, so is largely based upon what TV shows you've watched in the past 24 hours or so. Choose the shows you've watched from their list (which offers quite a good selection), then answer trivia questions about each show (some questions are also about the commercials aired during the show). You are awarded points for each correct answer.

Each day that you play and complete one trivia game, you will be awarded an entry into the $10,000 drawing. Playing two games (two different TV shows) will also get you an entry into the $1,000 "second game' drawing.

These entries are not dependent upon points earned in the trivia game. You will gain entry regardless of how many points you earn. However, points can be used towards rewards such as entry into various other sweepstakes, and more. Surveys and various other tasks also offer more ways to earn points.

The first time I played, I chose "NBC Nightly News," and "American Dad." It was fun. I especially enjoyed the applause when I chose the correct answer, as it made it feel something like being on a game show : )
