The Search for America's Best Remodel 2014

"This Old House" is giving away a total of $10,000 to readers who submit the best entries for this contest. They want to hear all about your completed home remodel project.

*Grand prize is $5,000
*5 runners up will receive $1,000 each

Entrants have 10 categories available to enter. These are:

*Whole House
*Kitchen
*Bath
*Yard
*Bedroom/Living Room/Dining Room
*Family Room/Attic/Basement
*Budget Redo (any room)
*Curb Appeal
*Paint Ideas
*Built-ins & Woodworking Details

The rules refer to your "remodel(s)" and "project(s)," with no mention, that I could see, of limiting your number of entries. So, I think it is safe to assume that you could create an entry each (or even more) for one, several, or all of the categories. Of course, as always, it's your entry, so it's up to you to follow your best interpretation.

Good photos are an important aspect of your entry, and they must be in jpg/gif format with a size no larger than 17 MB. Both before and after shots are desirable, though the before shots are not necessarily required.

Along with this, you must answer a number of questions on the entry form, some multiple choice, and some in your own words, to describe your project.

Entries are being judged on the following criteria:

*Photogenic Qualities - 25%
*Overall Charm and Appeal of Project - 50%
*Appropriateness to Contest Theme - 20%
*Transformation from Before to After 5%

Open to legal U.S. residents 19 or older. Ends May 27, 2014.
